Scott Photography specializes in on-location portraits of high school seniors, families and children. The variety and surprises are endless that occur on a photo session while in and around your home in real-life situations. What I capture is not possible in a studio environment. That's not to say we don't do some studio stuff. The ease and environmentally friendly surroundings of the studio is used on occasion, but on-location shooting is unmatched in terms of:

+ Comfortable expressions
+ Relaxed environment (it's your home)
+ Clothing selection is a no-brainer
+ Your portraits WON'T look like your friends'

So Seniors - If you want to sit in the same leather sofa or stand in front of the same background and pay $5 for an 8x10 desk portrait, then we are NOT your studio.

BUT - If you're after a very different photographic experience and want a photographer that invests an enormous amount of time with you during your session, then consider us. I believe this type of photography is the ultimate in personalization. I understand many are reluctant to have me come to your homes because no one thinks they have anything worth photographing. Most of the seniors I photograph live in very modest, middle-income homes. While you may not have Spanish arches, an in-ground swimming pool or a half acre flower garden, EVERY home has unlimited portrait possiblities!

My seniors have been photographed in kitchens, dining rooms, portches, attics, hallways, garages, barns, bedrooms, bathrooms and basements. I'm sure you have at least 4 of these in your home.

I had the pleasure of shooting an Indiana State Trooper.........with the camera :)

This year I was looking for something a little different to enter at the Indiana State Fair professional photographer's print competition. Well, I found it! Trooper Pat Etter has beautiful Big Bear Chopper and his uncle has a local machine shop. This is exactly what I was looking for - something different.

Pat and I spent several hours getting some amazing images - here is the one that was enetered.

I'm starting to enjoy this age group as much as my H.S. Seniors. This is a FUN age group to photograph as they begin to let their personalities come through in their portraits. This group is often left out of good quality portraits - Don't let this happen to your "TWEENER" (ages 11-16). These days are fleeting and we need to remember them.

Tori was an outstanding model on Valentine's Day, I can't wait to continue her session under some different lighting conditions and possibly some warmer weather. We got some great stuff as you can see below. Tori is full of life with a matching personality, her comfort level in front of the camera blew me away at her age - this will result in some great photo sessions in the years to come.

Our 2010 models are off to a great start! Aerial has been chosen as one of our 2010 models for her Senior class, we are so excited to have her represent us!

With the NUMEROUS activities this Senior is involved with (in school and out), this is the first opportunity we've had to shoot this model with this particular outfit. Softball season is just around the corner, we'll post some of those as well.

See Seniors - having just one session is nearly impossible to reveal all of your activities and interests. Capturing different expressions with these activities that tell a story about you at this time in your life is what your Senior pictures are all about. We also make you feel and look GREAT!!

Send me your ideas, any subject matter. I don't care if you're a low budget magazine, an individual, a non-profit organization, an agency....whatever. If you have an interesting project in mind, send a reasonably detailed brief, describing this opportunity to chuck@cs2photography.com.

I'll review everything that comes in - if anything does, and I'll get back to you.

Whether it takes 2 hours or 2 days - if something sounds like a good match, creative or cool to me, then I'll contact you, and I'll do that shoot for free and include a print from the shoot.

At this point, Brittany was our last Senior with most of her session being outdoors. From now until early Spring, we will be creating your AWESOME Senior portraits indoors. This Senior had endless portrait possibilities inside and out.

ALL of you Seniors have numerous 'things' to shoot near or in within your homes. I know it's hard to imagine and it's easy to ask 'what could he possibly use at my house to make my Senior portraits look great'? That's my job, let me answer that in your images and you won't believe your eyes!

Ashlee and I had one eye on the TV when we were inside during her photo session, we saw NFL history as our Colts came back from 17 down with less than 4 minutes remaining. That was the greatest comeback in league history in regulation.

Seniors, having your portraits done on location (at your home) and on your time (no time limit) is the only way to go. You won't be in a more comfortable environment and you won't have to worry about forgetting an outfit when compared to going to a studio. Your poses and props won't be like your friends' either. The list goes on an on as to why having your Senior portraits done on location is by far the best choice.

This was by far my longest session of the year (4 1/2 hours)!! Courtney has a clothing selection that is practically endless. It was tough to call it quits when she has such a huge variety of outfits. This is one reason Scott Photography doesn't put a time limit on your session - we'll shoot until YOU decide when we're done, not the clock. Your senior portraits are meant to tell a story of what you like at this time in your life and to capture as many expressions as we can. We find it impractical to do this with one eye on you and the other on the clock!

One of the first things I noticed about Danielle was the myriad of facial expressions she has. Danielle is a very expressive senior which comes in handy on stage and in front of the camera. She could pull off dramatic, fun, soulful and some somber looks on the drop of a dime. She immediately went from one look to another which kept me on my toes trying to catch them all. It was truly amazing! By the time we were done with her three hour session, I felt like we were old pals.

Katie and I had some spare time and some great weather that we wanted to benefit from - Katie has a 1000-watt smile to go along with her friendly personality, she made my job easy as she fell so naturally into her poses. Katie left for Colorado the very next day after her mini session, when she returns we will have her full photo session, which I'm positive we'll get some amazing images.

It's going to be impossible to photograph this 2009 Senior too much. Sami was chosen when she was an 8th grader to be our model!! We've known her and her family for many years and it's going to be bitter sweet seeing her High School Senior year approach.

I'd like to share with you some expressions that people rarely see - and that's her NOT SMILING. She is an absolute blast to be around and is constantly all smiles. Sami is full of life and has this very positive aura about her that is extremely contagious with whoever is in her company.

This is why I absolutely love on-location photography and why I insist on having part or even all of your senior session at your home. For more info, read here. As an on-location photographer, I fantasize about places like this Junior's home. All of Cora's pictures were taken in and around her house, since we were delayed by some rain and lack of daylight, we will certainly take advantage of her home some more since the textures are plentiful and the portrait possibilities are endless! Oh yeah, she's a beautiful model too :)
